Wear the Green

Do not be deluded by how we marry our colors and cross the

Yard blue on blue on blue we are expensive all moving pointillism

Your dreams we cost more than education and more than medicine

To heal wounds more charged to every citizen the green

Color of Patrick taken for a slave but how he did change minds

Hearts and those plans soaked by many tears of prisoners laid to

Rest in a Potter's field emerald lawn hammered license plates to

Mark the ground once all these saints did year upon year

Imprisoned do not be tricked that no other uniform is worn

Except green when you are punished in solitary cells alone

No sound nor conversation dwells and all the holy men and

Women entangled by the state invite you to wear the green with us
