Precedents Day

The third Monday in February. A day to make amends to many and amendments to Amendment XIII of the Constitution of the United States.

Preamble

We who once were considered people, incarcerated in this more and more imperfect Union, realize the need for Justice to insure domestic Tranquility. But, we say in Our common defence, we want to promote and support Our Own general welfare, to insure the return of the Blessings of Liberty to Ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this amending of Amendment XIII of the Constitution of the United States of America. It’s obvious from the original you have no idea what amends meant.

Amended  Amendment XIII

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist within the United States or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Everyone can Excel through Effort and Anyone can Advance through Achievement. Those who are justly punished for crime, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall also receive just payment for their labor. Debtor’s Prisons keep the indigent indignant and indolent. Induce the industrious to indulge in the inevitable and incomparable enjoyment of independence included with indemnity of indwelling industry. Presidents like George could wash a ton of dirt off of his slaveholding hands and all the way to Donald that holds the trump card. Both have been proven guilty and one has been convicted, but neither would agree that we should work for free. They sure wouldn’t.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

(Precedent: an act, statement, legal decision, etc. That may serve as an example.)

By James Padgett.
